Mission Statement

The Mental Health Association in Tuscaloosa County advocates for those who suffer with a mental illness to ensure they are treated fairly in the community and in the mental health facilities. The Mental Health Association in Tuscaloosa County also educates the community about obtaining good mental health and informing the community about the warning signs of illnesses.

We have several opportunities for volunteers. Our puppets always need grooming and often times their clothes need stitching. We could also use someone to become a puppeteer. A workshop is held to train individuals learn puppetry techniques and you are not required to become a ventriloquist. Our office always needs help during large mailings. If you are interested in helping with any of the programs we offer the community, please give us a call at 752-2689.
