Kids on the Block

Kids On The Block Program is an educational troupe of puppeteers designed to teach children about other children with physical and mental disabilities. The KOB program has expanded to include topics such as educational differences, medical differences and social concerns. This program is an excellent vehicle for children to openly discuss social and emotional problems at school.

The puppets are life size and come to life in front of the child. The style of puppetry used is based on the Japanese style of puppetry called "Bunraku" . Using the Bunraku style of puppetry, the puppeteers are dressed in all black with a black hood. The puppeteers are not ventriloquists. They speak directly through the mesh hood. If you would like the KOB program to visit your school or club, please contact the office at 752-2689 or email mhatusc@dbtech.net.

Skit topics:

Bullying - "You're Not The Boss of Me"
Bullying- "Safe At School"
Bullying- "Rescue or Report"
ADHD - "Shhhhhh"
Friendship - "What's The Problem"
Counseling - "Counseling Game"
Feelings - "Feelings Are Important"
